Exposing Skeletons with Reverend Leviathan: Xtra Overdoze [INTERVIEW]

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Twiztid’s album W.I.C.K.E.D., a weekend tour was launched. I attended the show at Oddbody’s in Dayton, Ohio. While there I ran into underground rap artist Xtra Overdoze.  Hailing from the Bronx, New York, Xtra Overdoze has gotten a lot of attention lately with his style of horrorcore rap.  So far his releases include two albums and a mixtape.

Xtra Overdoze’s new album, Viral Injection, and other albums and merchandise can be purchased here.

  1. Great attitude! Love the way this artist takes over the camera and his hand actions add a lot of dimensional character to the reel. The album cover is dope, reminds me of an underground rappers version of the Ozzy Osbourne “Scream” video. I just bought a prop over at Halloweentown in Burbank, CA that looks like it came off the set of a Rob Zombie concert for an upcoming steampunk Voodoo photo shoot for DarkestGoth. It’s weird because there was only one and it was sawed in half and hollow like it was attached to a microphone stand or something. The two halves were secured by a rubber band which was unusual for this type of store with a strict no return policy. I don’t know where it came from. After several attempts with various fastening compounds , I finally managed to meld the tall staff back together with porcelain molding clay. Ironically the makeup that Xtra Overdoze is wearing is somewhat similar to the steampunk warpaint I’ve been researching for the shoot… and that was the very first thing I noticed in this article upon glancing at it. I remember seeing Marilyn Manson BEFORE he made it. He was at the Florida “Jammy Awards” and was a way before his time. Everybody was looking for the next Eddie Van Halen. I pointed out to the music execs that Marilyn was the one in that show that was going to make it… no doubt that guy was the ONE going to the top! They looked at me like “What?” He was completely different and stood out like a sore thumb. I loved his show and there was that Xtra Overdose injected into it that I went onto explain as ” interdimensional magic, otherworldly possession”. I then pointed out that they already have an Eddie Van Halen. Continue honing your esoteric self as I look forward to seeing you shapeshift into Donald Trump…. captured on television for some eXtra Over-Dope! – Karen St. Claire DGM Spokesmodel 2019
