Exploring the dark side of Hollywood, I take you on a journey. This debut is episode 1 of my series “Goth Hollywood.”
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Twiztid’s album W.I.C.K.E.D., a weekend tour was launched. I attended the show at Oddbody’s in Dayton, Ohio. While there I ran into underground rap artist Xtra Overdoze.
In the late 90’s, a new shock rock band known as Rackets and Drapes hit the scene and turned many heads. Mostly that of Christians, as they were well-known in the Christian metal circles since they played the Cornerstone Festival a few times. They were met with much hate, but the love that the fans (that they call Therapy Patients) showed was much greater. After 16 years of inactivity and silence, Therapy Patients got quite the shock treatment when K. Kane came out of the blue and announced the return of R&D. And she has decided to give her only interview to DarkestGoth.
At the beginning of this year Rev. Leviathan attended Twiztid’s Holiday Hangover Weekend, and while he was there he had the opportunity to speak with rap artist/paranormal investigator, Prozak (The Hitchcock of Hip-Hop)…
Alla Xul Elu, or A.X.E. for short, is a horrorcore rap group from Ohio, consisting of three members: Billy Obey, Joe Black, and Lee Carver. At AXEmas 3 in Dayton this year, I was lucky enough to pull them aside for a few minutes, and needless to say it was just as I expected.
Recently I had the pleasure of conversing with Brandon Smith, the mastermind behind the electronic rock project, The Anix. This year he signed to FiXT Music and released his newest studio album Shadow_Movement.
Earlier this summer was the debut album release of “Ultranoia” by Damage Control–a global industrial electronic act on par with Front Line Assembly, Skinny Puppy and Noise Unit. The release had me totally stoked, as I had been given the privilege to preview the album in its entirety prior to it being released, (which btw is absolutely fantastic and worth every penny, dollar or quid you will spend on it) and, thanks to my backdoor Aussie connection — Bill Barsby, granted a chance to ‘sit down’ with Jason and Damian for an intimate peek into the project.
Canadian graphic designer Kelly Robiatille turned to photography in 2012. Kelly always had an appreciation for dark visual arts and as she dabbled in photography you can see throughout her work she began to bring this appreciation, and her design work into photography. Within time Kelly established herself as a great photographer with a dark aesthetic. Even though that in it’s self was something to be proud of, Kelly wished to take her art to a whole new level. I have the privilege to work with her closely, and connect with her, and she was more than happy to share her insight…
Explore the sights and people at the 2017 Lexington Comic & Toy Convention in Lexington, KY with your amazingly outrageous (and extremely ADD) host, Rocky Doll.
We had the privilege of chatting with Courtney Gains at last year’s Camp ScareFest. You may recognize him from the horror classic Children of the Corn. He’s also appeared in Back to the Future, The ‘Burbs, and The Funhouse Massacre .
Our DarkestGoth staff went through Camp ScareFest last year and focused more on the vendors and attendees rather than celebrities. We compiled our best footage into this little video here. See Calypso Clown, 13 Pagan Holiday 13, Rocky Doll and Kristiva Diva, Christine and Bill Gibson, Nic Brown and other attendees. Enjoy! And come see us this year!
Featuring music by First Jason, 13 Pagan Holiday 13 and Grave Robber
