Recently I had the pleasure of conversing with Brandon Smith, the mastermind behind the electronic rock project, The Anix. This year he signed to FiXT Music and released his newest studio album Shadow_Movement.
Dedicated to St. Roch, patron saint of healing against the plague and in this case during the Louisiana yellow fever epidemic… this cemetery, chapel and shrine is located off the beaten path in a quiet little area about 10 minutes outside of the French Quarter. At the paranormal division of the historical registry in New Orleans, it is noted that there are ‘sightings’ of a female sanguinary templar vampire that roams the area. She appears in human form and then vanishes into thin air. Caught on instant camera, a timeframe spanning from 1947 to 1961, she appears again and again…
I was completely unfamiliar with Lana Blac until I saw her perform at Fright Fest 15. After an awesome performance she hooked me up with a t shirt and CD. Drawing musical inspiration from Gothic metal and shock rock, the vampiress has hit the scene hard, heavy and bloody with her debut album, Nocturnal.
The 2019 DarkestGoth Spokesmodel search has been one of the most robust in our history, as finalists were challenged not only to submit galleries, articles, and videos, but also to promote their work and show that they were community minded in the process.
At the end of the search, one contestant perpetually worked their butt off and pushed the envelope. And even when confusion and miscommunication arose, they pushed through and corrected the issues as speedily as could’ve been expected!
Weighing in at about 300 lbs, Ethel Janoski won’t allow anyone to stand in the way of her glutinous appetite, even if it means killing! After years in a mental institution, Ethel is taken in by her aunt. Many people, including the head nurse of the institution and a local detective, believe letting Ethel leave that hospital was a huge mistake.
ScareFest Rebirth marks the 11th annual ScareFest, the famed horror/paranormal convention held in Lexington, KY. This year’s extra special guest was none other than Cassandra Peterson aka Elvira. Fans and cosplayers from around the country gathered together once again to meet their favorite celebrities, musicians and paranormal investigators. We got some of our best pictures yet.
After the events of the first book, which showed Thrawn‘s rise to power in almost a Sherlock Holmes-style narrative, as well as the events in Rebels: Season 3, which saw him trying (and failing) to remove the threat the rebels posed to the Empire, Thrawn: Alliances sets up a quest that Palpatine sends both Thrawn and Vader on to a distant part of the galaxy.
Attack of the Ninjas is an event presented by horrorcore rap group Twiztid and their independent record label, Majik Ninja Entertainment. This year it consisted of two days’ worth (last year was just one) of live performances from all of the artists on the label, including two different headlining sets from the demented duo themselves. This being my very first large Juggalo-related event, as I have not attended a Gathering, I was very curious what was in store.
When Gideon Crew and his co-worker, Manuel Garza, find themselves quietly “fired” from Effective Engineering Services by their brilliant (and newly healed) boss, Eli Glinn, they both harbor a lot of anger and resentment. Crew—because his deadly prognosis was never cured by the work that somehow cured Glinn—and Garza, because he wasn’t given an appropriate send-off for a decade of loyal service other than a gold Rolex. But when they realize they can uncover the solution to a rare artifact called the Phaistos Disc under Glinn’s nose, they both jump at the chance to go on one last…
With Constance Green in a remote monastery, Special Agent A.X.L. Pendergast finds life to be unbearably dull and flavorless—until he’s “punished” by being assigned to the death and decapitation of a dot-com socialite by his boss, who’s still not over Pendergast’s behavior in the last tale.
Hailing from Cleveland, OH, Key to the Mint is a post-punk/new wave band that formed in early 2015 out of the defunct shoegaze/noise band Privacy//Policy. Former members of P//P, Rich Kundracik and John Alexander, joined with vocalist Joel Anger and developed their previous post-punk sound into the more melodic new wave. A Godless Line is the group’s sophomore release.
