Hizuru Minakata is a very aloof and serious individual. Armed with her giant hammer, she is relentless when going up against shadows, seeking nothing but revenge for the murder of her younger brother Ryunosuke Minakata. She is also shown to be really intelligent can and calculate fast, but also has a caring and kind side to her. Amara Cosplays takes her stab at this iconic character from the edge-of-your-seat time travel anime, Summer Time Rendering!
Gen Con has really started to make a name for itself with its cosplay department, so I enjoyed exploring it in cosplay as Archer’s brash and powerful Pam Poovey. The amount of back ink that Poovey sports made it challenging to get as much on my back as I did! We decided to go shoot this in Lucas Oil Stadium at a past Gen Con and really liked the flavor we got while we were here. The Gen Con event is one I go to every year for good reason!
As we look forward to the new Gen Con in August, we had a chance to show a couple of cool photoshoots from Gen Con past this week and next week. Check out my original cosplay for the Elf Queen in the fountain square just outside the convention center that Gen Con is held at in Indianapolis. Bowsette takes on Gen Con 2019 and she’s gonna pick a battle with a lot of people and franchises! Model Amara Cosplay guest stars with photoshoot by Goth Viking Photography!
Con season is upon us! The roar of the crowd, the delight of a well-constructed cosplay, the giddy rush of panels and contests, all combine for the exhilarating con weekend that lives on in legend. C2E2 is one of the primere Midwest conventions. Standing for Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo, C2E2 boasted attendance of around 80,000 people last year. This year, for the first time, model and best friend Pandora and I, Amara, ventured to Chicago to explore C2E2!
Gencon, the best four days of gaming. My home turf. It feels funny calling it that, when only last year I brought you an article as my experience as a Gencon virgin. That’s one of the magical things about Gencon, the moment you get there, you feel a sense of kinship, of belonging. The air buzzes with geekery and fandom, and you feel home.
When you come across Raven, it’s hard to not be drawn to her. It isn’t just the striking blue eyes that seem to see right into you, but her poise and confidence sets her apart immediately. When DGM’s editor offered me the opportunity to interview Raven for a spotlight article, I leapt at the chance.
I made this gallery because JT Hanke (of Goth Viking Photography) took so many amazing photos, I couldn’t believe it and had to show you more. These are the photos that maybe didn’t have the perfect place to go in my Gen Con article, but I can’t stand the thought of not sharing with you!
Simply put, Gencon was stunning. I never expected the scope of the place. Everywhere I looked, there was something new to discover. I originally hadn’t planned a cosplay for the first day, but that idea was quickly abandoned–which inadvertently led to this shoot and article about exploring Gen Con for their first time.
