So much to see at Gen Con this year! DGM reporter, Megan Renee, takes you through Gen Con in our exploration video. The new style we used this year allows you to feel more like you’re actually there with us, as we see overviews of things, and then zoom into segments of tutorials just like you might if you were actually there…

After having to shut things down for awhile at DGM during the pandemic, things have finally settled down enough for us to bring DarkestGoth back to all of our fans!
The Akademia Awards asked Vamplified to come forth this year and give an awards acceptance speech. Last year “Skeleton Keys” won an award in instrumental music. Vamplified’s rock ballad, “Quicksand” also made it to the #1 chart position for both Hot XM and Star 100 Radio. Karen St. Claire, president of Vamplified speaks candidly about The Akademia. Winning in instrumental music she adds a surprising twist into the speech as she sings a diddly, acapella style from a 20 year recollection. This year she won an “Executive Award” in Rock.
Darkest Goth Magazine’s 2019 New Year’s Day Spokesmodel Inauguration. Vamplified recording artist, Karen St. Claire takes the reigns for one full year of “Necromancing the Throne’.” Stay tuned for more are DarkestGoth.com
VAMPLIFIED: “Skeleton Keys” is a new Goth instrumental release featuring nothing more than bare bones “rattling the keys” musical compositions. All songs written and recorded by Karen St. Claire.
Each year, the DGM Spokesmodel represents DarkestGoth and the Gothic community at large through spokesmodel galleries, event coverage, promotional material, articles, and interviews. To help accomplish this, they receive press credentials so that they have the special access they require to events, festivals, cons, and parties. This is not only a rare honor, but it’s also a responsibility, because they are helping our readers to live vicariously through them throughout the year they reign.

Arriving in Paizos’ Pathfinder pavilion was really cool, because it shows how just much a creative indie manufacturer could become a major power player with its Roleplaying system in just 7 years. It may have been based on D&D’s 3.5 open license mechanics when it was released in 2008…
Gen Con has the distinction of being the largest table top gaming Convention in North America, with a focus on board games, pen-and-paper, card games, and anything related to games that are not primarily played in the digital realm. (This doesn’t mean that there aren’t some cool tabletop games that take advantage of technology in their gameplay, but the technology isn’t required for the playing of most of the games.)
